The Streetwise LP: AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT CDBABY.COM!

http://cdbaby.com/edgarallenfloe3

Now...I could easily have everybody hit me up directly, and I would be totally cool with shipping out CDs directly to people, like I've done in the past...BUT...It's time to play chess now, and play it smart.

I SUGGEST TO ANYBODY LOOKING TO PRE-ORDER "THE STREETWISE LP", TO PLEASE DO SO THROUGH CD BABY...IT WOULD REALLY HELP ME OUT IN A MAJOR WAY!

Because...as the orders come in, the album will move up the CD Baby charts, which will in turn expose it to more potential supporters within the CD Baby web of shoppers. It's all about exposure, so again, this would really be a big help!!!

For those that may want an autograph copy of the CD, I will still ship out CDs to people directly...Just hit me up and I'll get back to you.

THIS IS IT YA'LL!!! YEARS IN THE MAKING...IT'S NOW TIME FOR ME TO TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL, AND YOU, THE FAN/SUPPORTER, WILL BE A HUGE PART OF THAT.

I appreciate all of the support, advice, and props from everybody over the years...You don't know how serious I am when I say that. I have always been the one to do my own thing...not follow the trends or ride any coattails. Originality, truth, knowledge...all the shit that people claim are not what's "hot"...I've always gone against the grain. I know this is just the beginning for me, and I'm one of the few artists that truly look to be a LEADER in this rap game. I'm going to continue to deal with people that want to box me in...label me, pigeonhole me...all that OTHER shit...But I know in the end, the catalog will speak for itself.

It's on ya'll.

Peace.

"Rules of the game, baby" (c) M.O.P

Yo,

One thing I'm learning about this industry...even at the "underground/indie/under the radar" level...There are people that will still try to hold your shit back, whether they realize it or not. It's amazing how the right connections can get you "in the door"...but also, the so called "right" connections can straight up shit on you...word up.

I do a lot of research (just like any other artist that stays on the grind), and a lot of the choices I make, I feel, are good decisions...I'm a smart dude, so I check out kats' credentials, experience, previous work and everything. After thoroughly checking them out, I try to reach out to those that I feel can help me with the Edgar Allen Floe movement. In a particular case, I'm looking to pay for their services, just like all of their other clientele.

BUT...I STILL get dissed, shitted on, ignored, and disrespected!!! I'm one of the most down to earth dudes you'll ever meet, and when I reach out to someone, I expect that person or entity to be straightforward with me...The worst thing in the world you can keep dishing me with are empty promises...I've been through shit like this, FROM PEOPLE I WOULD HAVE LEAST EXPECTED IT, for years...but particularly when working on getting "Streetwise" completed, within the last several months.

I truly feel like just because I'm not in the "forefront", selling a huge number of records yet(even for an "underground" artist), and the fact that I'm trying to build my name from the ground up...people think they can just disrespect you...like your shit is not worthy, compared to the other artists they may be working with...Now I know, this is a BUSINESS, so at the end of the day, it's all about the bottom line...But in my case...the services I was looking for (at least I thought) are partly based on THE QUALITY OF THE MUSIC...along with other things (image, marketability, previous accolades, etc)...I always read about how it's the music that drives these particular companies to work hard for you, to achieve desired results.

And I'm not trying to be another artist with his or her sobb story about the industry...that's not my point...To me, in the professional (business) arena, I've always expected someone's word to be their bond. Respect is big with me, so if the respect level isn't there when I'm dealing with you, I can't do business with you...period. Don't tell me "I'll have this done for you by Monday", and you don't even ATTEMPT to call me a week AFTER Monday!!! Maybe I value professionalism too heavily in the rap game...maybe no one cares about that. Integrity, honesty, etc...Maybe that's why everyone looks down on the rap industry...'cause there are no Code of Ethics...I don't know.

Or maybe I'm just expecting too much...being a "new" artist. Maybe I don't have enough stripes to voice my frustrations...to have certain expectations...even for services I intend to pay for.

There are still good people out there that I AM working with...For instance, I wouldn't be able to put together my own Canadian tour this December if it wasn't for people lending a hand...and I greatly appreciate and respect that. But it just shocks me to have one of the top people at their skill that I had reached out to...to just totally ignore me...like I'm not worth shit...saying they will do this and do that, but come up with NOTHING...ESPECIALLY when I've known this person for years, but never had the opportunity to actually do business with them, until now.

My album was pushed back two and a half months, because of the trust I put into this person to get the job done...and for what? Nothing...My momentum has been shot, just like that...Now I have to regroup and look elsewhere for the services I was hoping to have done...more than likely from someone I've never talked to beforehand. But who knows, maybe I'll gain new lifelong friends and peeps in the process...always gotta look at the potential "silver lining".

BUT...I WILL KEEP GRINDING. I will keep doing what I do...as a label owner, as an emcee, as a producer, as a mixer/engineer, as a manager, as a booking agent...whatever. But I tell ya...some of the people in this music game are UNBELIEVABLE...no matter how many records you sell...

Back to our regularly scheduled program...

What up,

Yo...let me tell you...Last Friday I get home...Look at my front porch, and see a ton of boxes from UPS. I'm suddenly HYPED as hell...Of course, this was the shipment of THE NEW ALBUM, "THE STREETWISE LP". I cracked one of the cd cases open, and I had the straight up "Kool-Aid Smile"...lol. To see this project FINALLY pressed up...after talking about it for YEARS...going through all kinds of trials and tribulations...delay after delay...haters telling me I'm not even worthy to do this shit...man YO...I am just so happy to see this project completed.

Now for ya'll...there is one last thing I'm waiting to have completed before I deliver the official news to the masses...Once this gets done (hopefully this week), you will get the official info, tracklisting, album artwork...whatever. I'm just really trying to keep my patience and make sure this CD is pushed properly. So bare with me ya'll..."The Streetwise LP" will NOT disappoint!!! peace.

Real Talk from David Banner!!!

Rap Dudes PAY ATTENTION!!!

The FOXtrotting Begins on Luda & Obama

Ludacris - "Obama Is Here"

Ok...so you have Luda giving props to Obama...But the song gets quickly rejected by Obama's campaign...

I know Luda was trying to give props...but one side of me says "He went about that song kinda wrong"...the other side of me says "ehhhh...so so track...whatever"...

Obama's campaign didn't want anyone to get offended or scared...basically white people who are looking for a reason NOT to vote for Obama...so it makes sense to reject the song since Luda kicked some lines like "paint the White House Black"...

If you're trying to be the President of the United States, you have to please the people...ALL PEOPLE...not just black...So in this sense, I feel where Obama and his people are coming from...bad move by Ludacris...

Muthafuckas kill me how they think if Obama is President, the black struggle will simply vanish...The next president will have to spend a tremendous amount of time cleaning up BUSH's fuck ups...So it's going to be a difficult task...I feel like it can be done...But sometimes I feel like some brothers and sisters think life will be smooth sailing if Obama is in office...There is no reason, for example, for cops to stop shooting innocent black men with Obama as President...If anything, the ignorant, racists fucks will probably look to retaliate in some way against their views on Obama...so potentially, police brutality could remain the same, or get worse!!!

Regardless of who is in office, we all have to be leaders in our own right to see change...'cause if Obama doesn't do what you THINK he should do, then what are you gonna say!!??!

Just my two cents...

Sick...

Awww man...

I feel like dirt right about now...So much has gone on this week, I think my body was more open to getting sick...I usually get sick maybe once or twice a year...But I'll admit, my eating habits have slightly strayed lately...with the stress level going up...But, I have been hitting the gym more, and getting my cardio on...Lost a little weight...feeling better...I just have to keep at it, and manage/relieve the stress, and I'll be good...

I should be back on my A-Game in a couple of days...

The Streetwise LP...Official Release Date

Yessir...

I've decided to make the official street date for "The Streetwise LP" October 14th, 2008. I'm still debating whether I'll make it available digitally before this date. I was looking to drop it next month, but I want to make sure the publicity side of things is set up correctly. I'm trying to do ANY AND ALL interviews, reviews, etc...in print magazines and online...so it's best to push to album to October.

The official press release is coming really soon. For anyone that wants to set up an interview with me now...hit up mceorecords@gmail.com...PEACE!!!

Cesar Comanche New Video: "Hands High"

Check it out...Straight outta Poland!!!

"THE STREETWISE LP"...is HERE!!!

AYOOOOO!!!

Wow...After talking about this project for YEARS...it's FINALLY done, complete, final, "red" to go!!!

I am SO happy right now...I know it's just the beginning and there's a lot of work ahead to spread the word...But putting an album together and making it sound like an ALBUM is not easy...I could have easily thrown a bunch of tracks together and called it an album...before the Floe Almighty projects...But I wanted my official debut album to have some memorable tracks on it...enjoyable from beginning to end...And I think overall, it's DOPE!!! Of course, you're gonna say that about your own shit...But hey...it is what it is...

SO....The official news will be released within the next few days...I'll be adding an online snippet session (video) for you to view shortly...

I don't even drink....But I swear I could pop a bottle right now and CELEBRATE!!! lol But naw, let's hit the gym instead :)

PEACE!!!

JL Album...progress?

What a task...it's only in the beginning stages...but things that I didn't expect have suddenly popped up...But again, anything can happen in this point, so I'll keep pushing for it...If it was meant to be, it'll go down...we'll see...

4th of July ish

Just found out Senator Jesse Helms died this morning...He joins the second and third president of the U.S., Thomas Jefferson and John Adams...as those who died on Independence Day...

Jesse Helms is/was a BIG DEAL in North Carolina. Very controversial dude...Very outspoken on his Conservative views...He definitely would not be one to give "The Streetwise LP" a listen...lol

Not sure if I can honestly say Rest In Peace...but whatever...The heart of NC will mourn today, that's for sure.

Streetwise promotion

Just got back from a show in Jacksonville, NC. My homie from Battle Squad, Bishop Brooks, performed last night and did his thing. Fellow Battle Squad member, Tony Mack, also rocked with Bishop. Overall it was a cool night, a lot of crews out there performing...I'm glad I was able to make it...had a good time.

As I prepare Streetwise to drop, I have a lot of ideas to help continue to build a buzz for it. But then I started thinking, WHAT ELSE could I do that could help promote the project? Any promo is good promo in my book, so if anybody has any ideas as to what you think would be good moves for the project, let me know. I was listening to the album (for the 10193421985 time) and really feel like this is a dope project that a lot of people will feel.

I already have the publicity covered...Album release party, posters...the basic stuff...But maybe something different from the norm is what I'm thinking. I have some ideas for that, but if you have any, help a brotha out!!!

What went wrong with The Justus League

People are asking (over at the JL message board, www.thejustusleague.com/lawn) if the Justus League fell off...But probably for the first time I've ever seen online...the comments are genuine and sincere. Usually, when somebody has a comment to make about a crew online, 90% of the time, it seems like it's hate...But this was totally different...Fans seem to wonder "what happened to JL"...like they know we have plenty of music in us to smash the game, as a collective...and they want to see it happen...

I don't think the League fell off...But I do feel like shit is scattered...Yes, we are all grown men and make our own decisions...but we never (as of yet) gave ourselves a chance to really show the world what we can do...AS THE JUSTUS LEAGUE...I don't know if everyone in the League understands what our potential is...But I'm definitely going to step up and try to get some shit poppin with everybody...

Yes..The Justus League is not a "group" per se...And that has been kind of a double edged sword...Because when we started doing our thing...we made sure the Justus League was represented for everyone to see...Group or no group...onlookers are going to expect you to keep reppin the collective...that most listeners will say..."You guys made me fall in love with Hip Hop again"...You can't take that lightly...'cause me...being a fan of the music, if there was a 15 man collective that came out of nowhere and had a ton of dope music, with a variety of emcees, crazy producers, AND they are some really down to earth, approachable kats...I would love them dudes too (no "Homies over Hoes")....

So, the Justus League is still here...We are just getting started...Median and Chaundon dropped their debut albums just this past year. I'm dropping my official debut album in August, and everyone else only has either 2 or 3 albums...So we're all youngins still in this game...

Ride wit us...and be amazed once again...peace.

Don't Hate on Shaq!!!

What up,

I heard on the radio today that people were upset at Shaq's freestyle, since he did a little bit of cursing...And, he curses on his songs...AYO!!! It was a FREESTYLE!!! People kill me...It's almost like they're trying to make Shaq look bad...like he ain't a grown ass man...As much work that he's done for the community, how can you hate on him??? He doesn't think he's a saint, and others should think so either...All I know is, the Freestyle was dope ass hell!!! I'm not a Kobe fan either!!! For my own reasons, different from Shaq's...of course :)

I still don't understand how people say I sound like Shaq when I rap...That shit used to piss me off at first...But that wasn't until people started saying "Oh no...You sound like Will Smith!!!"...WHAAAAAT!??!?! HELL TO THA NAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to say Will is wack...but c'mon yall...booooooooooooo that shit!!!

Did anyone ever say Will sounded like Rakim on "Summertime"!?!!?!?!? I NEVER heard that back in the day. I wonder...

What up!!!

Here I am...Edgar Allen Floe of The Justus League on the blog tip...I usually keep blogs updated over on my myspace page (myspace.com/eafloe), but I decided to be more active with the blogs...So, I WILL blog DAILY...most of them will be video blogs from my cell phone...New pics, news, and music will be available soon...

Aiight yall...It's on...My official debut album "The Streetwise LP" is on the way...it's looking like early August...I'll keep you posted and take you through the journey of putting together the album in future blogs...It's been a loooong, tough, journey :)

peace.
